I can't wait to share the following works in oil and watercolor done by my students who worked so diligently to complete them. Please like, share and consider scheduling Art Lessons at the Art of Excellence Studio! Can you guess the name of the basketball player in this graphite portrait created by young Artist, Dominic B. ?
If you can, that means Dominic did a great job not only on the portrait but on making it look like his favorite player. Here's what Dominic has to say about his own work: "This is my second portrait and I really liked working on the hair and beard. This is my favorite drawing of all that I have done. It was really fun and hard to do. I am 10 years old. I have taken lessons for 2 years and Rina is an amazing teacher!" Eva S. just completed this breezy watercolor painting of sailboats at the Art of Excellence Studio.
It makes her think about going to the beach! Like and Share! Gules M. has completed her first oil painting still life and this is what she has to say about her experience at the Art of Excellence Studio:
"I've been taking Art Lessons for about 2 years and I'm really proud of my work. I feel like I'm much better than I was when I started, and I've also learned lots of new techniques with different painting media. I enjoy Art more than I used to because my paintings turn out the way I want them to, and it makes me happy to see the finished project." Sepia is a muted brown color that gives paintings a warm, timeless feel. Two students working in shades and tints of sepia have completed their projects this month! Elena R. completed her first still life watercolor value painting and Mariana J. has completed a portrait value painting using Conté crayons. Another stellar oil painting by Anita N.!
This piece took roughly 10 months from start to finish. Anita has a real commitment to excellence! Winter-themed Landscapes have been very popular with students this year and they have expressed the subject in watercolor, oils and pastels. What an amazing time at the Studio! So many students have completed their projects. As you can see we have works in oil, pastel, and watercolor. It is so rewarding to see how pleased students are when they complete a project that required many hours of dedication from them. They love the results! If you want to encourage my students please give us a like and share! This month, three students completed watercolor paintings of a staged set of apples and their cast shadows. This beginner project introduces the student to under-painting and layering to achieve the final result/ I think they all did very well! |
