Beginner students Rebecca Ryklin and Mariana Johnson have just completed a project that used a limited palette to create the illusion of a cloudy sky and seascape. Using only two colors, the students varied the intensity of the pigment and the wetness of the paper to create the atmospheric effects. Nice work, girls! Advanced Students at the Art of Excellence Studio are currently working on Mixed Media paintings that use the principles of design to create work that is evocative of various themes. Here Dassi Mayerfeld and Ayelet Kurz have evoked the essence of Autumn and Winter, respectively. Great project, girls! I just completed teaching a 10 hour Adult Portrait class. Here are the BEFORE and AFTER work of just two students in the class. I think their dramatic results speak louder than words! After completing a lesson on perspective, the beginner students used many techniques to create these winter themed watercolor paintings. Even though the girls worked from the same subject matter, you can see that they brought their individual interpretation to the painting. Great job everyone! |
