Good work! Sofiya Rakitina, a Beginner Level-2 student, painted this expressive cat portrait using chalk pastel in shades of grey and white. This is the first time Sofiya has tried a project like this and the first time she used pastels. Great job!

These Beginners are gaining the confidence to tackle complex subjects and apply different watercolor techniques on their compositions.
For example, each student chose from the techniques of variegated background wash, wet in wet wash with drops of alcohol, or gradient wash for their paintings. In addition they used watercolor resist and crayon resist to enhance their paintings. I think they did a great job! |
