Beginner Drawing emphasizes exercises and projects that help the beginner to gain control over their hand/eye coordination. Students are taught to see their subject "like an artist" and to draw what they see.
Intermediate Drawing requires the student to build on the knowledge of what makes a good drawing and apply composition techniques. Values are introduced as training to observe shadowed areas and negative space around a subject, and incorporate those elements in their design. The student is introduced to more techniques as a way to correctly interpret perspective, and vitalize their work. Advanced Drawing allows the student to apply design principles to independent projects or subjects of their choice. In the Advanced Lessons, Students use an assortment of mediums and instruments to create their desired mood or artistic effect in their creation. |
