Drawing

Beginner Drawing emphasizes exercises and projects that help the beginner to gain control over their hand/eye coordination.  Students are taught to "see" their subject and to draw what they see.

Intermediate Drawing requires the student to build on the knowledge of what makes a good drawing and apply composition techniques. Values are introduced and the student is trained to observe the shadowed areas of a subject as well as the negative space around it and incorporate those elements in the design. The student is introduced to relative angles and sighting as a way to correctly interpret perspective.

Advanced Drawing allows the student to apply design principles to independent projects or subjects of their choice.  Students use pen and ink, washes, charcoal, graphite, and chalk pastels to create a mood or artistic effect.
