Beginners, Mariana Johnson and Rebecca Riklin, have just completed a watercolor project in varying values of one color.
The project helped the girls understand the use of value and design in creating the illusion of volume in a painting. Great job, girls!

IN THE CUBIST STYLE

Advanced Adult Student, Anita Nakhimovich, drew a detailed sketch (from observation) of a still life arrangement. She then abstracted the image in the style of the cubist painters and added elements of collage as well. This painting was executed in acrylic on watercolor paper.
