Chalk *Pastels have some unique properties in that they blend easily, have no drying time, and allow realistic interpretation in a shorter time than traditional painting.

Most intermediate and advanced students attempt a portrait or other subject in pastels as they progress in their understanding of Fine Art principles.



*Pastels are pure powdered pigment, mixed with a small amount of binder. They range in color from soft shades to very bright.
