Calling all kids 7 -12...
Don't miss Colonial America Arts and Craft Camp at the Studio
Aug 5 - Aug 16.
The studio is decorated to resemble a colonial home, complete with windows looking out into our "garden!"
Campers will learn a little American history and dress the part too! They will experience music and games of the era and make common crafts such as
"tin punching", candle dipping, weaving, making a silhouette picture and more! If you would like your child to attend, please use the "Contact the Artist" page, put Colonial Camp in the subject header and your e-mail will be promptly answered.

Adult Student, Leba Abramson, just completed this dramatic seascape using two colors.

This is a wonderful painting in which to learn about wet-in-wet watercolor techniques.  Also notice the sense of depth that was achieved through aerial perspective.
Good job, Leba!

This vibrant plenaire watercolor sketch/ painting was done on location at Shepherd's Lake, Ringwood, NJ by Foundations of Art (Camp) student, Mirella Fefer.
Mirella has applied the principles of artistic creation learned in studio (drawing, composition, value, color and technique) to her selected subject in the field with great success!

You can never underestimate the power of applying a full range of values to your subject matter.  Value painting is one of the major milestones in learning to create more realistic looking forms.

Leba Abramson drew this still life from observation. She then used her knowledge of value and applied multiple watercolor washes to achieve the varied textures of the forms in this piece!
Great job, Leba!
