Simona Friedman has just completed her first chalk pastel painting. Her subject? Her beautiful cat, Summer! Great job, Simona!
Portfolio Student, Ron Ledeniov, has just completed another piece for his portfolio...a silhouette on a beach at sunset...using chalk pastels on black paper. What a great subject...nice work, Ron!
Advanced Student Mirella Fefer, in her continuing projects exploring Modern Art, just completed a "Psychadelic" style painting. The design used radial symmetry and bright colors to create this painting of her first name!
Very colorful work, Mirella!
Three more students completed their Pumpkin Still Life.
Please keep in mind that for this beginner level, the artists are using complex techniques such as: resist to reserve white space; complementary colors to create shadows, and layering paint to achieve depth of color.
And they drew the subject from observation!
The artists age range is from 6 - 8 years old. Great job, girls!
I have just concluded teaching a 5 week adult drawing class and want to share my student's before/after photos. The first picture is their untutored attempt at drawing their own hand and the second is their final project...a hand "portrait".
I am so proud of their accomplishments!
Sisters Ariella and Naomi Fogelman are beginners at the Studio and have just completed their first watercolor still life, drawn from observation. They are so happy with the results!
All the students at this level worked from the same still life set up, employed basic watercolor techniques and brought their unique vision to the project!
Great job girls!
