Spring is the time of year when my students really enjoy painting flowers! Ariella Fogelman painted the rose using traditional watercolor, while Mirella Fefer used traditional watercolor on top of watercolor crayons to paint her "Spring Duet"

Advanced Student, Simona Friedman, has completed a pastel rendition of the Eiffel Tower at night. She carefully constructed her drawing and then applied layers of chalk pastel sticks and pastel pencils on black paper.
Nice work, Simona! Advanced Student, Ayelet Kurz, just finished this beautiful watercolor painting. The process required her to draw the subject from observation then later use a reference photo to work out the values in her drawing. Then she painted the subject using multiple layers of translucent watercolor paint in order to achieve the proper depth of her subject.
This was very well done, Ayelet! Recently The Art of Excellence Studio welcomed the girls and Scout Leaders from Girl Scout Troop 5183! The girls used water soluble crayons, brushes and water to color lovely Spring Flower templates on watercolor board. The girls were excited about the project and everyone had something pretty to take home. What a great experience! Sisters, Naomi and Ariella Fogelman, have completed watercolor paintings of running horses. This was a challenging subject to paint, and they both rose to the challenge. Nice work! Beginner, Ariel Strizhevsky, recently completed this close-up watercolor of a rose. Ariel created a value drawing first and then worked from that to paint the flower using multiple layers of warm and cool colors. |
