Portfolio Preparation
High School Students interested in a career in the Arts, prepare your portfolio now!
You will greatly improve your chances of being accepted into the college of your choice if you have an outstanding portfolio to represent your artistic abilities.
Unfortunately, many aspiring artists leave this important step until the last possible moment, either because they did not know that they needed a portfolio or because they believed the few works they had were sufficient.
Preparing a portfolio takes time.
For every ten finished pieces that a student may produce, only one may be worth entering into their portfolio. In order to have at the minimum ten portfolio pieces, a student should have produced at least 100 finished pieces in order to showcase only their BEST work.
For optimal results, students interested in a career in the Arts: Graphic Art, Fashion Design, Architecture or other specialty should enroll in portfolio preparation classes by the end of their High School sophomore year, or early junior year.
