Oil & ACRYLIC Painting
Oil Painting has a history and tradition that makes it popular as a medium for advanced students to want try out.
Students who have been trained to look for values and color shifts when using the watercolor medium, often find the transition to oil painting effortless after they have mastered this skill - especially since oils have a longer drying time and excellent blendability. Acrylics alternatively attract some students because of the faster drying time, which makes more of a challenge. Students work in these mediums using a limited palette, and are taught how to match the observed colors and values to their reference photos. |
