I love it when students think outside the box!
This is an excellent beginning.
Beginning student and semi-retired Dentist, Bob Sorin, came to The Art of Excellence Studio in May when he decided to pursue his passion for artistic expression. Although he did not believe that he could create something that looked "real", he was happily surprised by the results he achieved. Bob is working on another still life, and already has plans to work on a special project that will contain an element of optical illusion.
I love it when students think outside the box! This is an excellent beginning.

Stav who is 12, yrs old, has been a student at the Art of Excellence Studio since the end of 2020. She has learned to allow the values to create edges in her paintings rather than using lines. She has tried pastels, watercolor, charcoal, oil and acrylic mediums. "My perception has definitely improved. By using certain techniques, I am able to make the objects or people I draw in the proper proportions."
Stav finishes her projects quickly. Here are two of her recent works. "Woda jest taka Geboka" (The Water is so Deep) Mariana has been a student at the Art of Excellence Studio since she was 5 years old (2013). At 15, she has a passion for selecting interesting and challenging subjects that require the application of all her skills.
In recent years, Mariana has focused her talents on figure painting and portraits. This project took moths to achieve the layered effects of the clothing using oil paint. In addition to oil, she also works well in pastels and graphite. "After the Artist Alexandr Kiselev, 'Elbrus' "Anita Nakhimovich began taking Art Lessons at the Art of Excellence Studio in 2008. I learned that Anita always loved Art...even as a child she used every opportunity to draw on whatever material was available...even the wall in her Grandmother's home!
When I met Anita, she was very eager to learn, and her abilities multiplied from one project to another. Her ever growing understanding of measurement, values, subtle color changes and other details have enabled her to make outstanding Art in watercolor, pastel, and oil. Her favorite expression: " Relax, and make Art" Showcasing today, Anita's most recent Oil Painting: "After the Artist Alexandr Kiselev, 'Elbrus' " School is out! Art is in!!Learn a new skill, develop your talent, treat yourself or someone you love to Art Lessons this summer!

Let's make Art together! Hello 2023! Time really does fly by! We are already halfway through the year, but there is plenty of time left to enjoy making art.
It's hard to believe but some of my first generation Art Students have long since gone on to establish themselves in Art Careers, while others have earned their PHD in the Sciences. Others have simply kept their love and practice of art as a beloved hobby. All of them are outstanding! I am so happy to have contributed to their love of beauty and their desire to leave their artistic mark in the world! "Live through artistic expression" is my personal motto, and facilitating everyone's journey into the Arts is my passion! Today's art highlight is a watercolor rose with a crayon-resist background envisioned by Advanced Student, Matthew Trostin. Title: "Pink Beauty". Gail and Esther Trifel love horses! They also love painting...so they really loved painting horses!! This was a really fun project in which they learned a lot about texturing with a fan brush, reserving white space and layering paint.
Well done! This is Sophia Baytman's first watercolor painting. She is seven years old and she loves art! This painting is designed to help students become acquainted with the "wash" technique of watercolor. Isn't it beautiful? Very good work, Sophia!
This happy horse dancing through the meadow of wildflowers was created by Sasha Zatuchny. The painting was done by reserving white areas, and then applying thin layers of watercolor paint. What an exciting result!
